CHS Oakdale Hosts Annual Block Party

On Friday, Oct. 7, the Center for Human Services (CHS) - Oakdale Family Resource and Counseling Center will host its Sixth Annual Community Block Party. The event will be hosted from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

This family friendly event is focused on sharing information while having a great time. Information from over 30 resource booths will be available. There will be plenty of fun for the whole family including free food, music, a photo booth, giveaways and face painting. CHS-Oakdale Family Resource and Counseling Center will host a Free Market in conjunction with the event that will include books, clothing, and household items.

Tamberly Stone, CHS - Oakdale Family Resource and Counseling Center Coordinator shared she hopes attendees, “have a fun and educational experience. We are excited to have so many resources for the community all in one place. I know we are all looking forward to meeting many new people. We are also pleased to provide a chance for people to get to know the services available in their community better.”

In 2010, Center for Human Services opened the Oakdale Family Resource and Counseling Center which has allowed them to continue to provide various prevention, education, counseling and family resource services for youth and families from Oakdale, Riverbank and the surrounding areas. Their services include: Literacy and School Readiness for pre-school age children, Parent Cafes, Parent Education, utility and crisis assistance, drug and alcohol treatment groups, support groups and behavioral health counseling.

CHS - Oakdale Family Resource and Counseling Center is dedicated to assisting families and equipping them with skills they need to succeed. Their bilingual staff allows them to broaden the scope of people served and the majority of their services are offered at no cost to recipients.
