It was a special gathering recently, as family members and plenty of relatives and friends feted Eva Berndt Naatus on the occasion of her 100th birthday.

Eva was born to Robert and Ollie Muirhead on Dec. 30, 1918 and she grew up on a farm in Kansas.

She married Harold Berndt and they had 12 children together, they were married for 50 years and seven months before his death in 1986.

Eva has lived in Kansas, Colorado, Nebraska and now California. She has lived in Oakdale since 1999 and and lives an active life.

Her faith in God is strong and she is still able to attend church. Her children will agree that they are blessed to have had her for so long. They say she is “amazing.”
