Caltrans, Government Officials Celebrate Highway Projects

Caltrans and the San Joaquin Council of Governments (SJCOG) will recognize significant milestones on State Route 12 (SR-12) including: completion of the $20.5 million smart corridor and operational improvements project from just east of Interstate 5 to the Rio Vista Bridge; the kick-off for the $46.7 million Bouldin Island Rehabilitation Project; and the ceremonial unveiling of a sign designating a portion of SR-12 as the Dana Cowell Memorial highway. The celebration is planned for this Friday, Sept. 27 starting at 11 a.m. at the Tower Park Marina in Lodi.

Speakers are scheduled to include: Ken Vogel, Supervisor District 4, San Joaquin County; Rob Patrick, Area Commander, California Highway Patrol; and Andrew Chesley, Executive Director, San Joaquin Council of Governments.

Malcolm Dougherty, Director, California Department of Transportation, Caltrans and Amarjeet Benipal, Acting Director District 10, Caltrans said the State Route 12 Projects Celebration and Highway Dedication event is open to all.
