Preschool Story Time and Wiggle Worms will be off-session in August and resume in September.

The ‘Read For The Win!’ Summer Reading Program will conclude on Tuesday, Aug. 9. Keep on reading and continue entering the drawings for great prizes for all ages.

Final drawings will take place after the program ends. Prizes include gift cards, bicycles, gift baskets and more, donated in large part by the Friends of the Oakdale Library.

Children’s Craft will be Thursday, Aug. 4, at 3:30 p.m. It will be “Pencil Topper Pandemonium” as participants create everything from animals to aliens out of pipe-cleaners, googly-eyes, yarn, and stickers. Pencils are provided too!

Fridays in August will be Lego Days. Join the fun at 3 p.m. on Fridays, Aug. 5, 12, 19 and 26. Kids can unleash their creativity and their masterpieces will be displayed in the Library.

The Wee Move And Play program, featuring unstructured imaginative play for little ones, 5 and under, will be Mondays, Aug. 8 and Aug. 22. Both begin at 11 a.m.

Teens and Adults: Have fun designing a unique “para-cord” bracelet. Choose a single color or interweave several different shades to make it your own. These are great for guys and girls, and they will be fitted with a locking clasp. This craft begins at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 11.

The Friends of the Oakdale Library are the main sponsors of so many of the local branch programs and prizes. They will hold their monthly meeting on Monday, Aug. 22, at 1:30 p.m. You can sign up to join the Friends. Forms and info are available at the Oakdale Library.

The Library Book Club will be reading “Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand” and meeting to discuss and share on Tuesday, Aug. 23, at 11:30 a.m. Sign out your copy at the Library. New members welcome.
