Congratulations go out to Meghan Caron, Knights Ferry School Sixth Grader, on her First Place award in the Aileen Jaffa Young Poets Contest. Her winning poem was titled “Scout, Sniff, POUNCE”. She also received an Honorable Mention for her poem “She Glided, She Leaped, She Landed” and her sister Ashley Caron, Eighth Grade at KFS, took an Honorable mention for her poem “My Dream.” Keep up the good writing!

Lynn and Barbara Burroughs have returned from a trip to Utah, where they joined friends from Lynn’s medical school. They enjoyed seeing Utah and then they went to Texas to visit friends.

Condolences go out to Ben Cassinetto and family on the death of his mother, Mary.

At the meeting of the Knights Ferry History and Museum Associates the annual Homecoming was planned. It will be June 5th and will feature the Morrison family.

The River’s Edge was jumping last Friday. There was a Graduation Celebration for Lisa Renee Frymire who earned her Masters in Education Administration (way to go Lisa). Also the Randy Mandy Band had a fundraiser to help pay for their first album and road trip. The outside deck was the graduation party and the R and M Band was on the inside stage. Since almost everyone knew everybody, there was a flow of people from one to another. It was a fun evening.

Knights Ferry Parent-Teacher Club held a fun family evening last Wednesday. They had a spaghetti dinner, Bovine Bingo, and a talent show. There were 26 acts of talent by 37 participants. The cow finally flopped in square #43, and Darla was the winner. They sold 170 dinner tickets and all had a great time!

For those who missed the Shearer’s 15 minutes of fame, the show will be shown again on Tuesday, May 24th at 7:00 p.m. on Channel 6. Lynn Duckworth and “Red” and “Three Toes” are also shown.

Knights Ferry School will hold Graduation on June 1st at 7:00 p.m. at the school. The last school day is June 2nd.
