Congratulations go out to Amanda Chase Wright on graduating from California State University, Stanislaus School of Nursing, with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing. She will be pinned December 16th. Amanda got her start at Knights Ferry School in 1991! Way to go girl!

Knights Ferry Community Church is celebrating the season with services on Sundays at 9:30 a.m. Christmas Eve services will be held in the Chapel at 5:00 p.m. December 24th. Christmas Sunday services will also be held in the chapel at 9:30 a.m.

Andrew Schlegel has enlisted in the Army. He will go after he graduates from high school.

The Knights Ferry School Board held a special meeting last Wednesday to interview and choose a new board member to fill the vacancy of Bill Frias who resigned in October. Letters of intent were received from Kym Cassaretto and Bob Brunker Jr. The vote was a tie. On Thursday at their regular meeting the Board voted again and Bob Brunker Jr. won. Maureen McKibban and Sherron McCarthy who were recently re-elected took the “Oath of Office” of the Board. President of the Board is Mark Schlegel and Nancy Redden is the Clerk of the Board.

Stan Cook, former owner of the Oakdale Leader, was surprised with a dinner in honor of his upcoming birthday. Family and friends gathered at El Ranchito and enjoyed seeing his face when he walked in. There was great food, good mariachi band and visiting with friends. Stan hired your reporter in 1999.
