Last week, Breanna Banks traveled with her mom, Kim Banks to her new home at the University of Charleston in West Virginia. She will be staying in a dorm on campus and continue her volleyball career playing for the University of Charleston!

Sean, Kim, River, Tristan, and Savannah McCarthy and Kim’s mom, Darlene took a memorable trip to Europe for three weeks during their summer break. They traveled to London, Bath, Windsor Castle, Stonehenge, England, and Ireland. The family experienced and created a lifetime of memories but a few highlights of the trip included watching King Lear in the Globe Theater, saw the Queen’s jewels and Tower Bridge, stayed in a carriage house in Inistioge, visited the Blarney Stone, and visited Limerick Castle in Killimor. Kim noted one of the most charming cities was Bath, the family ate at Sally Lunns, one of the oldest Cafes in Bath. Kim’s favorite part was visiting the Globe Theater and staying in the carriage house. Sean was able to kiss the Blarney Stone and play a round of golf. River’s favorite part was Bath and set a goal to receive her Masters there. Tristan’s favorite memories included visiting Windsor Castle, all the foods, and the Irish countryside. Savannah’s favorite place to visit was Harry Potter World but she really enjoyed the design portion. Darlene enjoyed seeing the Johnnie Fox’s dancers and live music.

Deagan Sweet played in his first varsity football game for Oakdale High after his season ending ACL tear almost a year ago to date. He worked hard to recover after having his ACL replaced and was able to start at his position as Cornerback.

Mr. Lee Shearer’s Shearer-Sendoff Shindig will be held on September 10, 2022. Gravesite services at Oak Grove Cemetery in Knights Ferry will begin at 11am with fellowship to follow in downtown Knights Ferry at the Community Club and the Odd Fellows Hall. Please bring a side dish or a dessert to share.
