Knights Ferry News 10-13-21
Nastasia Sweet

Former Knights Ferry native, Betty Irvine (Robuck) passed away at 105 years old. Betty and her family were a part of Knights Ferry for many years, they lived in the home that is now the Martinelli ranch. Her family still maintains a small cabin in the area for the Robuck family to enjoy Knights Ferry’s quaint living. She was a true artist and often painted scenes of Knights Ferry. She is most notability remembered for her incredible mural painted on the focal wall of the Knights Ferry Church sanctuary.

As many of you know, I am the youngest daughter of the Martinelli family and I am the proud owner of one of Betty’s paintings that was gifted to me by her one of nieces. It is a painting of my parents’ ranch that was her family home for many years way before my family purchased the land, from the Cemetery Road viewpoint.

Knights Ferry School’s spirit was loud and proud at the annual Color Run fundraiser last Friday. It was full of bright colors, loud and upbeat music, and smiling faces as each one of the students raised around the track to raise money for the school. The school raised $28,000 and had a whole lot of fun while they did it! Great job, Bobcats!
