Oakdale resident and multi-sport athlete Mark Richardson has joined professional adventure racing team Tecnu Extreme/Staphaseptic. They are heading to South Dakota for the PrimalQuest adventure racing Championships that brings the best co-ed teams of four from all over the globe from Aug. 15-24.
Teams will mountain bike, paddle, run, rappel into caves, navigate, and mountain climb their way over a 600-mile course in the backcountry testing the boundaries of human endurance.
“He has slowly been becoming a killer multi-sport athlete and adventure racer, and this year we were excited to welcome him aboard professional adventure racing team Tecnu Extreme/Staphaseptic,” said team captain “Earring” Doug Judson. “He will be the lead navigator on this co-ed team of four as we head to the PrimalQuest to take on over 40 of the best teams from around the globe. We have every reason to expect to go top 10 at this race, and have been training hard with the anticipation of tackling the toughest endurance event in the world with over 600 miles to travel on some of the toughest, and hottest terrain in the U.S. — the South Dakotan Badlands.”
Richardson is a firefighter in Tracy and also helps put on the Gold Rush Adventure Race each November in the local area with Modesto-based adventure racing Team Karma.
