Joe and Jeanette Evans of Oakdale recently celebrated 25 years of marriage.

They met in 1976 through their work in ministry of Biblical research and outreach. They wed on Oct. 13, 1984 in San Diego.

The couple has resided in the Oakdale/Knights Ferry area for 19 years. They are the parents of Joseph Evans of San Jose, Jessica Evans of Boston and James Evans of Oakdale.

Mr. Evans is retired from the National Guard and the California National Guard. He is currently self-employed as a window cleaner. Mrs. Evans has been employed for nine years with the Oakdale Joint Unified School District as an instructional aide. She currently works at Sierra View Elementary School.

The couple celebrated their anniversary with 40 friends and family members and were surprised by their daughter who flew in from the East Coast. They also enjoyed a ’25 Years of Memories’ DVD put together for the occasion.
