Oakdale’s varsity Lady Mustangs cheer squad and the JV girls took part in Sunday’s Central Valley Cheer Showcase on Nov. 13 featuring cheer programs from several area schools. Escalon High School hosted the event, with performances beginning at 9:30 a.m. and concluding early afternoon. Along with host Escalon, cheer squads from Oakdale, Calaveras, Hilmar and Kimball took part. The event was open to the public and gave the cheer squads a chance to showcase their talents in dance and tumbling, with some intricately choreographed routines thrilling those in attendance.
