Oakdale’s youth basketball program took a big leap this past weekend. Oakdale Stangs youth basketball hosted a two day tournament that featured over a dozen different cities and teams from fourth through eighth grades. Oakdale’s fourth and seventh grade teams took first place while the fifth, sixth and eighth grade teams went 2-1 over the weekend. Games were held at Oakdale High School and Oakdale Junior High School.

Coached by Hondo Arpoika, Charles Legan, Steve Henderson and others, coaches said the Stangs program is a step in the right direction to rebuild the future of basketball in the Cowboy Capital of the World.
