Another proud milestone for Oakdale Water Polo was set earlier this month at the Pacific Coast USA Olympic Development Program regional championship tournament in Moraga.

Four athletes of 15 total in the entire central California zone (10th and 12th grade divisions) are from Oakdale High School.

Emily Bennett, Caitlin Golding and Emily Stolken all made the 98U (10th grade and under) CADET National Training Selection camp to be held Memorial Day weekend in Long Beach.

Shelby Stender made the YOUTH training team which comprises the 96U (11th and 12th graders). Previously Oakdale’s best showing was two selections (Bennett and Stender) in 2013 and only one in 2012 (Stender).

“This is the top 70 in the country competing for the chance to represent the USA at either the YOUTH World Championships in Madrid, Spain or UANA Junior World Qualifier tournament,” said coach Alan Stender. “Emily Bennett captured all-tournament team honors as well for the Cadets.”
