Oakdale High School’s varsity softball team remains unbeaten after defeating Sierra 6-0 on the road. In the Valley Oak League showdown, the Lady Mustangs beat the Wolves using their bats, clean defense and a solid game from Lexi Webb in the circle.

Webb, who improved to 9-0 as a starter this year, struck out 12 batters and pitched a no hitter. From the plate Webb connected on her sixth home run of the year. She went 2-for-2 with two RBI and was issued a pair of walks as well. Freshman Riley Goodridge connected on a solo home run for her lone hit of the game. Brittany Bye had a pair of RBI for Oakdale.

“Lexi has six home runs on the year and continues to impress in the circle,” head coach Larry Loger said of the starting pitcher and power hitter.

Oakdale was scheduled to appear in the 2018 NorCal Tournament in Tracy this past weekend but were rained out. The Lady Mustangs are scheduled to host East Union on Wednesday, April 11 with first pitch scheduled for 4 p.m. Oakdale will then host Kimball on Thursday, April 13 to finish the week.

“We as a team are looking forward to the big week. East Union is always a tough program and we look forward to the challenge,” Loger said.
