Varsity Lady Mustang Soccer Falls In Second Half

The Oakdale Lady Mustangs returned to soccer action on Thursday night, Jan. 4. In their first game since Dec. 21, Oakdale traveled to Manteca to take on Sierra. Oakdale gave up five second half goals in the 7-1 road loss to the Timberwolves.

Oakdale (4-4, 0-2) found themselves in a 2-0 hole late in the first half but Kassy Rodriguez scored unassisted to put the Lady Mustangs on the board. However, in the second half Sierra (11-0-1, 2-0) scored five goals to pull away from Oakdale. Sierra’s Jadyn Shinn scored four goals to help power the Wolves in the Valley Oak League battle.

The Lady Mustangs were scheduled to play at home against East Union (7-3, 2-0) on Tuesday, Jan. 2; however, the game has been rescheduled for Saturday, Jan. 13 at 1 p.m.

Oakdale also took on Lathrop (3-3-1) on the road on Tuesday night, Jan. 9 following The Leader’s press time. Thursday, Jan. 11 the Oakdale Lady Mustangs will host the Weston Ranch Cougars (3-9-1, 0-2) at 5:45 p.m.

 

JUNIOR VARSITY

It was a rough trip to Sierra for the junior varsity squad. Oakdale lost to the Timberwolves 10-0 to fall to 0-2 in Valley Oak League play. Tuesday night the team traveled to Lathrop to take on the Spartans following The Leader’s press time. On Thursday, Jan. 11 the girls will host Weston Ranch at 4 p.m. and Saturday the team will also host East Union, with game time scheduled at 11:30 a.m.
