Lady Mustang Soccer Opens League With Loss

After a preseason that saw the varsity girls soccer team on the road for six straight games, the Lady Mustangs returned home. Oakdale opened their Valley Oak League season at home against Manteca on Thursday night, Dec. 21. Manteca won the contest 4-1 to spoil the home opener.

Manteca led 2-0 at the half and took a 3-0 advantage before Viviana Albor scored Oakdale’s lone goal of the game off an assist from Krissy Lolonis.

The Lady Mustangs (4-3-0, 0-1-0) will be off until Jan. 4, 2018 when they travel to Manteca to take on the Sierra Timberwolves (10-0-1, 1-0-0). Sierra is coming off a 9-0 win over Lathrop. This game is scheduled for 5:45 p.m. Oakdale was originally supposed to take on East Union on Tuesday, Jan. 2 but the game has been rescheduled for Saturday, Jan. 13.

 

JUNIOR VARSITY

The junior varsity team fell to the visiting Manteca Buffaloes 7-0 in the Valley Oak League season opener. Manteca jumped on Oakdale early and cruised the rest of the evening. Oakdale will continue Valley Oak League play on Thursday, Jan. 4 when they take on Sierra in a road contest. The game is scheduled for 4 p.m.
