Oakdale senior Lane Trapp, son of Russell and Marian Trapp, was recognized as a member of the 2016 Cal-Hi Sports All-State football team. The Mustang varsity kicker turned in a memorable final season where he connected on 7 of 10 field goal attempts, with a long of 49 yards. The kicker made 70 of his 76 point after touchdown attempts. Trapp’s strong leg resulted in a total of 5,160 kick off yards, resulting in 70 percent of touchbacks for the Mustangs this season. Trapp scored a total of 91 points for the Mustangs this season as well.
Trapp was recognized with several high school athletic awards this season including: CIF All Sac-Joaquin Section Football Team, All Stanislaus District Football Team and All Valley Oak League just to name a few.
“He is a great kid, one of the best,” Mustangs coach Trent Merzon said of his kicker.
