Dear Editor,

I would like to thank the voters of Oakdale for the opportunity to serve our community. It is an honor to hold the trust of the citizens of Oakdale.

This is an exciting time to be involved in local government. We have a unique opportunity to come together and encourage local business to expand and to attract new enterprise. Thousands of tourists come through town. We need to highlight our natural resources; the river, the train, the airport, talented artists and the Oakdale heritage.

As a community we are lucky to have good schools, a hospital and mostly a town of caring, giving and forward-looking citizens. Government is not the answer; it is a partner and facilitator to encourage the private sector and individuals to soar.
