Drugstore Project

Dear Editor,

On Wednesday, May 16, I had the opportunity to go to The Drug Store Project at Fair Oaks School. I had never been to one and it was well worth the trip. It started out with Gang Awareness. It went on to different drugs, where a child was arrested. From there, it went through a juvenile hall scene, a court scene, and a probation scene. From there we went to a skit on a party with illegal drinking and drugs. The final two stages were a hospital scene and then, a funeral. I sincerely applaud the high school children who took part in this. What really amazed me was how some of the fifth and sixth graders reacted to it.

They were so rude and acted like it was all a big game. PEOPLE – wake up – this is the real world! These are your children! If you have never been to one of these, it would be worth your time to attend one. Last, but not least, thank you so much to the school district and the different men and women of law enforcement who took the day and the time to put this on.
