 Theresa Kay Schovanec was born March 15, 1954 in Bakersfield, CA to Aairon and Ida Bell McBride. She passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2014 unexpectantly in Perry, Oklahoma at the age of 60 years old.  Theresa grew up in Tehachapi, CA and later moved to Knights Ferry, CA, where she raised her daughter. In the year of 2008 she met her soul mate and moved to Perry Oklahoma. Theresa worked for Cherokee Strip Transit and recently took a position at United Community Action (operation blessing) where she had the opportunity to help others which brought her great joy. She has worked as a paralegal and had her associate’s degree in business.

   There are many qualities that Theresa will be remembered for, she had a very giving heart and loved to help others. Her love was unconditional. She could light up a room with her smile and make you laugh just by listening to her laugh. Theresa’s family was very important to her. She was a very caring wife, mother, mother in law, stepmom, grandmother and friend. She was always very excited to hear about her grandchildren’s achievements and called them “her pride and joy!”  In her spare time Theresa loved to go fishing, work in her garden and go on long drives with her husband.          Theresa is survived by her husband Pete Schovanec, her daughter Heather Pena and husband Noe and their children Ashton and Zachary of Oakdale, CA; Step-son’s Donny Schovanec and his children Johnathan and Brett of Perry, OK; Joey Schovanec and wife Annette and their children Derrick, Brandon, Alec and Cadion of Perry,OK; Jason Schovanec and wife Kelly and their children Tyler and Madison of Perry, OK; Step-daughter Evade “Dee” Canonico and husband Gil and their children Kayli and Breanne; one great granddaughter Payton Schovanec and many beloved friends and co-workes.

She was preceded in death by her father and brother Aaron McBride.

   Services will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, January 1, 2015 at the First Christian Church, Perry, Oklahoma with Reverend Martin Foster officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home in Perry, Oklahoma.
