Rhonda, age 60, went home to be with the Lord on Aug. 3, 2017 at her home in Oakdale, CA. In October 2016, Rhonda was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and after fighting courageously for ten months she passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones.
Rhonda was born to Bill and Mary Cordes in Salinas, CA. She grew up enjoying competing on swim team and working at the family bakery. After graduating from Salinas High School she attended college in Fresno, where she met and married Brent Sales. She settled down and started a family in Merced, CA giving birth to three boys, Brian, Jeffrey, and Michael. Later, she married Bruce Boese, moved to Oakdale and enjoyed 26 wonderful years together. Many of those years were spent in their house in Hawaii.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bill Cordes, and brother, Chuck Cordes. She is survived by her mother, Mary Cordes, husband, Bruce Boese, sister, Cathy Lamar, children, Brian Sales, Jeff Sales, Mike Sales, Erich Boese, Laura Bland, and Emily Shepard and many wonderful grandchildren (17 of them!)
Rhonda will be greatly missed and remembered. She was devoted, generous, thoughtful, and loved caring for her family who meant the world to her. She lived her life through the lens of her children and grandchildren’s enjoyment, taking them skiing, camping, to amusement parks, ball games, doughnuts at Moss Rose, shopping, sing-alongs in the car, and countless hours in the backyard by the pool. We had so many unforgettable family vacations, the beach house on the coast, boating trips, fly-ins, and trips to Mexico and Hawaii. The family is strengthened and sustained by the love and faith that she cultivated in each of us.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held at Calvary Chapel Oakdale, on Saturday, August 12 at 1 p.m.
