Oscar “Bob” H. Edwards passed away peacefully on November 8, 2017.
Oscar was 98 years young at the time of death. He was born on September 30, 1919 in Russellville, Arkansas to Thomas and Mae Edwards. He was preceded in death by his son, Keith Edwards.
Oscar was a WWII Veteran of the US Army and a proud recipient of the Silver Star and Purple Heart Medals for his disregard of his own life to save others while under attack from enemy mortar fire in Italy. Oscar retired from the FAA as a Superintendent.
Oscar leaves behind his wife Lucy Edwards, daughters Alice Edwards and Susan Lyon, son James Easley. Oscar had five grandchildren; Angela, Christina, Dustin, Amanda and Erica. He was a proud Great Grandfather to Sadie, Evie and Tatem and many nieces and nephews that are very proud of him.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at Oakdale Family Church of the Nazarene, 1700 W. F St., Oakdale CA on Sunday, November 19th at 2 p.m.
