Lorne Arthur Wilson passed away Saturday November 8, 2014 from a long battle with cancer. Lorne was born February 9, 1930 in Los Angles California. Attended high school in the Alhambra school district.  He then went into the Army, serving in the Korean War. After he was discharged he moved back to his home area and began college.  Lorne started college at East Los Angeles junior college earning an AA.  Then Lorne Received a B. A. In Education from Santa Barbara University California. Then a Masters in Education from San Jose State. Loren began teaching in a few different schools before taking a job at Oakdale High School in 1964.  While at Oakdale High School Lorne taught mechanical drawing / Drafting and also enjoyed filming many sporting events.  Especially while his boys played.  Lorne retired from teaching in 1989.

Prior to coming to Oakdale while attending junior college, during an archery class, he met, and married Barbara Jean Pra in 1954.  Married for 59 years and 2 months  before losing Barbara to Cancer November 17, 2013. Lorne and Barbara had three boys, Patrick, Michael and Tim, and six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren.

Lorne was a veteran of Korea War, and belonged to VFW post 2922, and American Legion post #0474 of Half moon Bay, California.   He was also involved in the Ford Retractable Club, and spent a lot of time working of Ford Mustang with friend Pete Hoffman. Also For the last  44 years, he was a  long time member of the Elks Lodge of Modesto #1282.  During retirement The Wilson’s traveled to 49 states to Elks Lodges, collecting Elks Lodges pins,  in their Diesel pusher.  Lorne is being laid to rest along Side Barbara in Oakdale California.
