Jean Lorraine O’Hearn, 76, died Friday, July 31 of cancer at Alexander Cohen Hospice House.
She was born in Modesto to Sylvester and Hattie Hoover.
She was one of the first women to become an office manager/controller for Aetna Life. Later, she was an accountant and office manager for the Moffet Company, San Jose. She retired to Oakdale 10 years ago.
She was active playing tennis, the piano, painting and knitting. She also learned to play bridge and participated in four bridge groups.
Her friends will remember her as an endless source of information, as well as her very independent spirit and her gentle humor. Her family will remember her for her “I Can Too” attitude, strength and love.
Survivors include her daughters, Kathleen O’Hearn of Idaho and Valerie Schlothauer of California; sister, Jackie (Art) Brown of Oakdale; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Patrick O’Hearn of Idaho and Michael O’Hearn of Florida.
Services will be private.
