Evelyn May Morrow was born November 7, 1928, along with her twin brother, to Emil and Blanche Johnson at their home in Modesto, California and passed into the arms of the Lord on May 23, 2018.
Evelyn graduated from Modesto High School where she loved playing in the band. After graduation she started a career as a secretary in the banking industry where she worked for 40 years. She met and married the love of her life Leslie Morrow, and together raised four children: Wendy, Gayle, Rand, and Cindy. They enjoyed traveling together across country in their RV, boating, and spending many happy days at the coast. She was very active in the United Methodist church where she played the organ, taught Sunday school, and told children stories during the church service for over 20 years. Evelyn was the spiritual leader of her family. She enjoyed many years as an active member of Beta Sigma Phi, where she made many lifelong dear friends. She will always be remembered by everyone that knew her for her strong faith in the Lord, love of children, her beautiful smile and giving nature to all.
She is preceded in death by her husband Leslie Morrow; sister, Marion Johnson; and twin brother, Edwin Johnson. She leaves behind Wendy Morrow, of Stockton, Gayle Jackson (Farrell) of Oakdale, Rand Morrow (Kathy) of Oakdale, Cindy Fukuyama (Craig) of Fresno; eight grandchildren, Neil Jackson, Lezlie Acker, Jacob Ellis, Becky Ellis, Keaton Morrow, Cory Morrow, Nicole De Coste, Scott DeGraff; and, three great-grandchildren.
Heaven just got a beautiful angel and she will be missed by us all. There will be a private service at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery. Any remembrances may be sent to Optimal Hospice.
