Dwain passed away at 84, while living at the Veterans Home in Livermore, Calif. He was the youngest of five children born to Cyrus and Blanche Smee. He grew up in Oakdale, Calif. He was preceded in death by his wife Rebecca Goodman Smee and daughter Cherie Lynn Smee-Sanders. He is survived by sons Mark Smee and Craig (Smee) Wilkinson. Also Sheryl (Smee) Wilkinson and stepson David Nimmo. Dwain had five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Dwain was a Korean War Hero and served his country bravely in battle at Christmas Hill. He was a Sergeant in the Army and was awarded a Bronze Star, a National Defense Service Medal, a Korean Service Medal with two Bronze service Stars, combat infantryman Badge and a United Nations Service Medal. After the War Dwain worked as a correctional officer and was a past member of the Blue Knights motorcycle club for Law Enforcement. Services will be held Friday August 12, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon, Calif. Reception to follow.
