DAVID MICHAEL VIERRA
David Vierra

David Michael Vierra, 21, passed away quietly at home October 31, 2016 after a valiant battle with cancer. David graduated from Oakdale High School in 2013 and worked for the family at Vierra Bros. While in high school he was on the wrestling team and wrestled varsity his sophomore year. He spent his days hanging out with his brothers and friends, often at the ranch. David enjoyed camping, weightlifting and cooking. He was an avid learner of history and politics. In June David and his mom Kim went on a trip of a lifetime to Italy where he was able to attend the Papal Audience with Pope Francis and explore the history of the Roman Empire. Another special thrill came over the summer when he was invited to join the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s SWAT team on a special training day. Training with the men and shooting their guns made such an impact on him that at David’s request a memorial fund has been set up at Valley First Credit Union, that will be transferred to the K-9 Association, in order to establish a fund to help other kids facing health challenges have a similar opportunity. David is survived by his parents Dave and Kim, and his brothers Cedrick and Brandon, his grandmothers Carol Vierra and Lynda Roberts, and his great-grandfather Don Zollinger. Also his uncles Perry, Steve, and Manuel Vierra, David Taggs and their families.

Services will be held Monday, November 7 at 1:00 p.m. at the Christian Reformed Church at 131 West F Street, in Oakdale. A reception downstairs will follow.
