Daniel J. Ortiz Sr., a recent resident of Manteca and who had previously resided in Oakdale passed away Monday March 21, 2016 at Magnolia Assisted Living Home in Escalon at the age of 86. He was a truck driver at a local dairy company in Corpus Christi, Texas for 26 years; a devoted husband and father, loved his Dallas Cowboys, valued family outings and was involved with all his children and grandchildren throughout his life. Daniel Sr. was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on January 27, 1930, he is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Zita L. Ortiz (of Corpus Christi, Texas). He is also survived by his four children, Daniel Ortiz, Jr. Manteca, CA, David R. Ortiz Tracy, CA, Darlene G. Thompson, Corpus Christi, Texas and Dennis Ortiz Sidney, Ohio; also 13 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Daniel Sr. and his wife were attending The House Iglesia Hispana in Modesto and was a faithful Christian believer.
He will be missed by all his family leaving behind many joyful moments and memories. We would like to give thanks for all the prayers and support to our family during this difficult time. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday March 25, 2016 at Oakdale Memorial Chapel 830 West F Street in Oakdale, California.
