It seems like the Holidays have really crept up fast on us this year! This past week our Valley Home 4-Hers celebrated their accomplishments during the past months with a delicious dinner and awards ceremony. Special guests for the evening were Mrs. Jan Hempleman, former Valley Home 4-H leader and Mr. Ken Wilmarth, retired Stanislaus County 4-H Program Director. Laughter, generated by lots of fun and friendship filled the Valley Home School Gym as our 4-H'ers enjoyed the evening together! The evening was made even more special with the Valley Home School Superintendent, Rolanda DesRosiers-Lewis and her delightful husband Gary, in attendance! The evening ended with a video presentation of the 4-H'ers activities over the past year. It was certainly a wonderful and enjoyable event for all attending!

With Thanksgiving upon us, it is a good time to be thankful that we live in such a lovely little community and enjoy such good neighbors and friends!

Our 4-H'ers are currently turning their attention to the annual Valley Home Christmas Parade, tree lighting and Community Potluck Dinner. Please mark your calendars for December 8th, bundle up to ward off the night chill and get ready to enjoy an evening of sparkling lights and Christmas spirit as our 4-H'ers will once again provide a delightful Lighted Christmas Parade for all of us to enjoy! The dazzling Lighted Parade with the Oakdale Historical Society's 1951 Van Pelt Fire Engine will again travel the streets of Valley Home, bringing the evening alive! Our beautiful little Christmas tree in the Valley Home Community Park will glisten with happiness as its branches, adorned with brightly colored lights come to life again on December 8th. More details will follow on this very special Community event.

Oops! We got so excited sharing the news that local author, Michelle McKenzie has a second book coming on the market, entitled  "Beavers' Big Discovery" which is due out in early December, was because we gave the wrong E-mail address to contact Michelle for additional information. Prelease copies will be available for purchase before Christmas. Those interested can contact Michelle for more information at 505-4071 or E-mail sillycritterstories@gmail.com.
