We hope that Santa was able to make his visit to our Valley Home area and deliver a sleigh full of Christmas cheer even though he was greeted by rainy weather! Valley Home residents were still able to enjoy wending their way through our streets in the rain, and enjoy the colorful display of lighted homes. Even though we had to undergo heavy rain at times, the lights were enveloped in a misty glow that was beautiful to see.

For those who watched the colorful Lighted Christmas Parade we would like to identify the wagon driven by the Grinch. The red hitch wagon pulled by the two beautiful black Percheron mares belonged to the Landing family.

Our Valley Home students are all enjoying the first week of the winter break which began Monday, December 24th and will run through January 7th.

Glenn Burghardt, presided over the December meeting of the Oak Valley Art Society and promptly entertained a motion to dispense with any business and proceed to enjoy the group’s annual Christmas potluck luncheon and festivities. Luncheon was enjoyed at tables decorated with figures of Santa Claus representing different countries over the years. Following the luncheon club members enjoyed a Christmas gift game exchange, a favorite activity by members where the gift received can be taken by the next person in line to receive a gift. Everyone had a fun time!

It was a festive Christmas for the Burghardt family, who enjoyed two delicious dinners this year. Granddaughter Stefanie and husband T.J. served up a delicious family dinner at their home on December 24th and newlyweds, granddaughter, Kari and husband Josh, invited everyone over to their home to host their very first Christmas dinner on Christmas day. Both dinners were delicious and enjoyed by all!
