A very happy and blessed Easter to all! This Saturday, March 26th our Valley Home 4-H will sponsor their annual community Easter egg hunt! What an exciting and colorful day this will be. Egg hunters young and old are invited to the Valley Home Community Park, to search for hundreds of brightly decorated Easter eggs. The fun begins at 11 a.m. and is under the direction of our community leader Sean Haynes, and 4-H president Sierra Haynes. Bring your Easter baskets and come ready to enjoy a wonderful time with friends and family. I remember fondly Valley Home community member and good friend Ronnie Smith always bringing his salt shaker to the Easter egg hunt … What a good time we all had!

A rural way of life … Tomorrow Thursday, March 24th, our students will be treated to a full day of education in agriculture! Valley Home school kindergarten through eighth graders will start their day surrounded by all aspects of agriculture. The hands on learning stations will welcome students starting at 8:30 a.m. Stations will be manned by Oakdale High Ag students from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. in the morning. Stations such as sheep shearing, welding, and ag mechanics will teach our students the value of agriculture in our Valley Home area! Oakdale High Ag teacher Rebecca Mendoza is greatly appreciated for bringing Oakdale High students to share their knowledge with the Valley Home students. After lunch Escalon High school will share their incredible farming, ranching, and greenhouse skills with the students. Escalon High students will provide stations highlighting soils, weeds, seeds, floral and much more. Escalon’s Ag program is very much appreciated by our Valley Home students!

Last Friday our Valley Home school’s basketball players enjoyed their last game of the year. Valley Home played Shiloh at home and it was an absolute joy watching the tremendous sportsmanship exhibited by these delightful young people! We offer a special tribute to our eighth grade basketball players as they get ready to leave Valley Home School.
