Tonight, Wednesday, July 11 our Valley Home MAC will meet at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be at our community park. This is a great place to get your questions answered about community happenings! It is also a place where you can share your concerns. Usually fire, CHP, Sheriff, school, and County representatives are in attendance! It’s just a really great place to get information. Our Valley Home National Night Out celebration is less than a month away; this is just one of the items on tonight’s agenda. Everyone welcome!

We are excited this year to be able to share some of the incredible history of our beautiful Valley Home! Many of those whose families were here long before many of us, will be bringing their memories of their lives in early Valley Home to share! One of those folks who is willing to share her story is Pamela (Pammie Barnhill) Moore. Pammie has such a wonderful story of her ancestors coming to Valley Home, she will share wonderful stories of the old downtown Valley Home (Thalheim). We are excited to see pictures from several folks willing to share their history including Robin (Price) Miller, who will share photos of her beautiful mother, Mary Anne (Booze) Price. I am very grateful to Jeanne Cullum for the wonderful pictures and information she sent to me. Thank you Jeanne!

National Night Out is a celebration that is held each year throughout America, actually from coast to coast! It’s always held on the first Tuesday in August and we have celebrated it here in Valley Home for about the last 10 years or so! The thought behind National Night Out is to encourage folks to come outside their homes and get to know their neighbors. It’s a great way to get to know those living in our community! We are so blessed to live in this beautiful, peaceful community. Our National Night Celebration will start at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday August 7th at our community park! Everyone is invited to bring a favorite potluck dish to share with your neighbors, what an exciting fun-filled night. In the past we have had visits during the evening from fire, Sheriff, CHP, County Supervisor, and also folks from church and school have visited. Such a wonderful evening, all are welcome and encouraged to attend. If anyone needs a ride, please let me know and we will make arrangements to get you there!

We are thinking the most beautiful and most productive garden of the year award should go to the Haynes Family! Sean and Julie are very knowledgeable with raising successful crops. Their garden is absolutely magnificent, lots of healthy eating!
