Hi everyone, I hope you are each feeling well and enjoying a really nice day.

In this week’s column, I would like to share the beautiful wedding of former Oakdale High graduates, Tatyn Silva and Tyler Furtado. Tatyn and Tyler were high school sweethearts … then college sweethearts … Now they are forever sweethearts.
For those in Knights Ferry and Oakdale, who watched Tatyn grow up and those in Valley Home, who have watched Tyler grow up, it was the most special moment as they said “I do.”
With the gentle sound of the river a few feet away, guests sat comfortably under majestic, huge old oak trees. The day was perfect, with the warm afternoon sun and a bright blue sky peeking through the hundred-year-old oak trees. Almost as if it were a scene from a beautiful fairytale, the music began. Handsome young men, childhood friends of Tyler, escorted Tatyn’s beautiful ladies in waiting down the aisle. Tatyn’s brother Colton was beyond proud of his beautiful sister. As all eyes turned towards the top of the hill, we heard a definite rumble; the sound of a powerful engine coming to life. Anticipation filled the air … guests turned again and looked to the top of the hill. Again, we heard the sound of that powerful engine. Knowing it could be none other than the classic bright red 1969 GMC C10 pickup that was originally owned by Tyler’s great-great grandfather and that Tyler and his dad Tony had worked years to restore. We eagerly watched the top of the hill; yes, it was in true storybook fashion as Tyler’s beautiful bride and her dad Gary Silva came into view. The father of the lovely bride was driving his soon to be son-in-law Tyler’s classic pickup truck. The father of the bride was about to give his beautiful daughter to an amazing Valley Home “country boy” and I’m sure Gary was feeling a million feelings, sitting at the top of that hill. As the engine roared to life, louder this time, I don’t think Gary could resist a couple of loud accelerations as he arrived at the bottom of the hill. Tatyn’s dad has always been a man who loved to have fun but, on this day, he was more serious than usual. He would soon give his daughter to her forever love Tyler. At the bottom of the hill near a flower-strewn pathway, under the gigantic oaks Tatyn’s mother, Jessica Silva was waiting. Jessica and Tatyn’s future mother-in-law Sharon had spent hours together creating this most beautiful day. Tatyn’s future father-in-law Tony Furtado was also waiting for the bride. Tatyn wore the most dazzling gown and was stunning as she arrived at the altar. As soon as the couple had exchanged their wedding vows, Tyler tenderly dipped his lovely bride and stole the sweetest first kiss.
Guests then enjoyed a lovely dinner and danced late into the night.
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Tyler and Tatyn Furtado.
