We send a huge “Thank You” to our Oakdale Saddle Club, and to all who worked so hard to make our 70th Annual Oakdale Rodeo a wonderful success! Seventy years of honoring our Cowboy way of life; what an amazing tradition! From the Cowgirl Luncheon to the delightful downtown parade (and all activities in between) what a fun filled week! This year the parade was led by an amazing man ... a man who has given so much to his hometown ... Mr. Steve Medlen! It was a great joy to see our beautiful Oakdale cowgirl, Miss Katie Serpa, crowned Miss Rodeo Oakdale 2022! It truly was a wonderful weekend ... everyone enjoyed themselves and some really ... really ... really enjoyed themselves! Rodeo weekend has life all of its own; it too, is tradition. A very special part of our Rodeo Week was when the beautiful mural of three of our legendary cowboys: Bill Martinelli, Bob Eidson and Jim Charles was unveiled to the public; what a special moment for their family and friends! Each of these amazing men’s talent is definitely beyond words! It was a tender moment for a very special lady in Knights Ferry. Kay Martinelli, wife of Bill Martinelli (Bill is pictured first cowboy on the left in the mural) has the most precious memories of her beloved Bill. He was devoted to his beautiful Kay and as her heart filled with years of tender memories ... her pride and deep love for her cowboy, and along with the sweet memories only a wife could know, beautiful Kay stood beneath the mural and once again years of memories with her handsome cowboy filled her heart with the most sweet and tender forever love. The mural is located near the Cowboy Museum and the H Bar B Saloon in downtown Oakdale and also features the world champion bucking bull Bushwacker. Bushwacker made his home in Valley Home for many years!
