Valley Home News
Mullins - VH

Our Valley Home School parade on Halloween Day was a huge success! A very special “Thank You” goes out to Stanislaus Consolidated firefighters, Dan Cummins, Dustin Andersen, and Dan Lopes. After working most of the night on a house fire, they came to Valley Home to hand out sweet treats to grateful goblins. Having them here made our day very special! Sheriff CSO Melissa Hardy, Sheriff Deputy Barry Ballance, and K-9 Officer Lycan passed out goodies to a long line of happy students. It was wonderful having them here in Valley Home. The students had a great time watching K-9 Officer Lycan work out in our community park before the parade. The costumed students were excited to receive treats from CHP Officer Tom Olsen and CHP Officer Brandan Everett. It was an amazing day in Valley Home! Leading the parade on the school’s John Deere tractor was Scarecrow Taylor. Scarecrow Taylor made sure the parade route was safe with plenty of smiles and laughter passed out to all. The first stop on the parade route was generous Susan’s General Store. Each year Susan and her helpers hand out heaping bags of trick or treat goodies to grateful students! Mr. Tom once again made the day special for our students with delightful treats for all. Family members, neighbors and friends lined the parade route with many passing out goodies to parade participants. In what is sure to become an annual tradition, Scarecrow Taylor parked the school tractor and posed for pictures among the pumpkins, cornstalks, and hay bales. We offer a most heartfelt thank you to The Oakdale Leader for the great coverage of our school parade! Thank you to Superintendent Tom Price and the entire school staff for making this amazing day possible!
