Thank you to all of you who supported our annual Valley Home Community Park Fundraiser. Your generosity will help maintain the park, pay PG&E, insurance, and taxes. You are all very much appreciated! It was indeed a very special afternoon. We are blessed to have this beautiful little park for each of us to enjoy. Again your support is greatly appreciated!

I had the honor of meeting a really great young man this past Friday evening. Police Officer Garrett Worley and his father-in-law Phillip Shepherd came by to pick up dinners at our park fundraiser. Garrett is better known in Valley Home as Emily’s handsome husband, and baby Heston’s proud daddy! It was such a pleasure meeting you Garrett, it’s easy to see you are going to be a great dad! We thank you for your service as a police officer!

Excitement for Oakdale FFA! Congratulations to this amazing group of young people. The judging team traveled to Oregon for the Western Fall Classic in Medford. They are extremely talented and made their hometown of Oakdale proud by winning “everything”! Ag teacher Isaac Robles reports there is still lots to learn, but what an exciting start to their journey to Nationals. Congratulations to all!

Living in the Cowboy Capital of the World, many of you know team roper Rickey Green. Although not a local cowboy, Rickey grew up not far from here. He has taught many, many cowboys and cowgirls from across the country to be great ropers! A couple weeks ago Rickey had a stroke, this week he was diagnosed with leukemia, and his doctors say leukemia is what caused the stroke. Rickey has been told he has two months to live, but true to the man he is he will fight hard. He is a positive, strong believer in God and will fight the battle with everything in him! To help Rickey and his family you may go to Facebook, a Go Fund Me account is set up to help this amazing cowboy and his family. We send love and prayers to Rickey and his family.
