So much excitement ... Great news from Jami Terra! Our 2021 Oakdale Rodeo will be held on August 14th and 15th. This is wonderful news! Once again our rodeo grounds will come alive with the sights and sounds of our amazing Oakdale Rodeo. Legends will perform ... (hopefully) the crowd will roar ... God Bless Rodeo and the Cowboy Capital of the World! Thinking about rodeo always reminds me of the words of the world famous Chris Ledoux song “Running Thru the Rain” ... the first lyrics start out “Well it’s rodeo time in Oakdale California.” Aren’t we all thrilled to have these words ring true once again! Our Oakdale Rodeo is one of the biggest on the west coast and always draws legends and amazing, talented cowgirls and cowboys. I would like to send a “thank you” to past and present members of the Oakdale Saddle Club. These dedicated folks work tirelessly to maintain the rodeo grounds. They put on one of the most exciting rodeos in the western United States!

In today’s column we would like to welcome our new Stanislaus County Supervisor for our district. We are excited to welcome Mr. Buck Condit. Buck is an amazing family man. He is well educated, a problem solver, and a great team builder! Buck truly is a man of the people ... his door is always open. Thank you Buck for serving our community for all these years as a dedicated firefighter, and now as our Stanislaus County Supervisor. You are greatly appreciated!

We would like to send a heartfelt thank you to our first responders. It is with a heavy heart that we mourn the loss of Deputy Adam Gibson of the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department. May God bring comfort to Deputy Gibson’s family and to the department and people he served so faithfully.

This week we end our column with a sad goodbye to an amazing man, Karl Wucherer. Karl was well known for playing the most beautiful accordion music. Karl will be deeply missed by his dear friends and his loving family. Rest in heavenly peace Karl.
