We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of a truly great man, Donald Lynn Wright. Known as Donny to many, he was born on August 10, 1949 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Donny had a tremendous love of horses from a very early age. When his father tired of the Midwest winters, he packed the family and moved to California. They settled in Guerneville. The owners of a local pony ride business made arrangements to keep their ponies at the Wright property, all 100 of them, it was a dream come true for Donny. What a wonderful life. Later in life, he and his beloved wife, Jessica would return many times to the Redwoods. One of their most special places was Armstrong Woods, where they would sit and pray together in what Donny called “God’s own cathedral”. Horses defined Donny’s life, along with the Marine Corps, his family and his love of all who were part of his life. Donny was a man who loved God and served God his entire life. We send our deepest sympathy to Jessica, Amy, Jason and Finn and his adopted children. What an amazing legacy this cowboy has left to all those he loved and treasured. Rest in heavenly peace, Donny Wright.
