Library Clinches National Award

Stanislaus State’s J. Burton Vasche Library has been honored with the inaugural excellence award from the U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO) for its Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP) website. The GPO created the award to recognize libraries that creatively present government information on their websites, making it easily accessible to users. In a release announcing the news, the FDLP lauded the Library’s Federal Government Resources Guide.

Geography Awareness Week

Explore the fascinating world of geography during Stan State’s GIS Day and Geography Awareness events, Nov. 7 through 9.

Stanislaus State’s Center for Applied Spatial Analysis (CASA) and the Geography and Natural Resources Program will bring a series of speakers to its Turlock and Stockton campuses for the University’s 2023 GeoWeek and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Day. The three-day program, which is free and open to the public, features speakers who will share their work and discuss how geography relates to a wide range of topics including health, social justice, linguistics, air quality and more. The public will have the opportunity to ask questions and reflect on the importance of geography. Visit the event website for the conference schedule and list of featured speakers.
