The City of Oakdale presented plaques and certificates to retiring Oakdale Police Department officers Thursday, Sept. 3 on the front steps of City Hall, commemorating their long service to the city. Pictured, from left, Councilmember Rich Murdoch, Officer Michael Walsh, Sgt. Keri Sturges and Mayor J.R. McCarty. Due to the social distancing constraints of COVID-19, an official retirement party wasn’t feasible but the Mayor expressed a desire to properly celebrate the officers’ dedicated service at a future date that would include family, friends and, most definitely, cake.
