The ASTRO Foundation Adoption Center is officially relocating. The current location at 157 N. Fifth Ave., Oakdale, will be closed Saturday, April 26 and Sunday, April 27 as the resident animals and staff members make the move into their newly purchased facility at 20 S. Stearns Road, Oakdale.
ASTRO, the Animal Shelter To Riverbank and Oakdale, is scheduled to begin operations at the new location starting Wednesday, April 30 and will feature the same hours as before, open Wednesday through Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Officials note that there have been 188 pet adoptions so far in 2025, with ASTRO continuing to make a difference.
“This move is possible thanks to our incredible new and legacy Capital Campaign sponsors. We are beyond grateful,” said Director of Adoption Services, Megan Scoullar. “Sponsorship opportunities are still available.”
ASTRO is also preparing for its upcoming fundraiser, ‘Woofstock 2025’ to be held at the Oakdale Golf and Country Club on May 31. Tickets for the champagne luncheon are $70 each and include lunch and bottomless mimosas, with proceeds to support the cats and dogs at ASTRO.
Prior to the luncheon, starting at 10 a.m., attendees are invited to take a private tour of the new ASTRO Foundation Adoption Center on South Stearns, which is located just across the highway from the Country Club on North Stearns. In addition to the tours and the champagne luncheon on May 31, there will be raffle prizes and a silent auction, with live music provided by Jamie Byous.
