A 17-year-old validated Norteno gang member is in-custody following a shooting at a large party on Post Road early Sunday morning.

Oakdale Police Sergeant Brian Shimmel said police responded to a large fight that broke out at a “rave party” held at a warehouse in the 1200 block of Post Road around 1:50 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 16. While responding, police learned that shots were fired during the fight and party attendees were possibly injured. A vehicle with the suspect was reported fleeing the scene.

Upon police arrival two males were discovered shot, each with multiple gunshot wounds.

Shimmel said both shooting victims were transported to local hospitals where one of the subjects, a 29-year-old male, had to be air-lifted to Doctors Hospital in Modesto due to the extent of his injuries.

While responding to the scene, Oakdale Police Officer Rocky Anderson observed a vehicle matching the suspect vehicle description and, with the assistance of the California Highway Patrol, conducted a high-risk stop of the car on Hi-Tech Parkway.

A 17-year-old male was arrested and a .22 caliber pistol believed to be the gun used in the crime was recovered inside the vehicle. The gun was reported stolen by an outside police agency.

Shimmel said the juvenile suspect was booked in Stanislaus County Juvenile Hall for two counts of attempted murder, possession of stolen property, and gang and firearm usage enhancements.

“He meets the requirements of the Oakdale Police Department for gang validation and has for some time,” Shimmel said about the suspect.

Police are continuing to investigate this incident and contact witnesses. This morning, police recovered a cell phone video taken of the incident,
