Rotary Clubs Planning Law Enforcement Day
Rotary

The two Oakdale Rotary clubs – Oakdale Noontime Rotary and Oakdale Sunrise Rotary – are joining forces to plan and put on a Law Enforcement Appreciation Luncheon.

This special appreciation day for local law enforcement agencies will be observed on Valentine’s Day, Wednesday, Feb. 14, said Oakdale Noontime Rotary Club member Marcus Haney.

“It’s for all of the police department members, their staff and companions,” Haney said. “Also, anyone interested from the public is invited to attend.”

The event is being planned at the Oakdale Golf and Country Club with a noontime luncheon; cost is $15 per person and to RSVP for a spot for the luncheon, contact Haney at 209-605-6727. Reservations are requested by Monday, Feb. 12 for the Feb. 14 luncheon.

“It’s just an opportunity to express the community’s appreciation for the hard work and the presence of law enforcement in our community,” Haney said, noting that Rotarians wanted to salute the police for their dedication to keeping Oakdale a desirable place to live and raise a family.

The luncheon will run from noon to 1 p.m.

Oakdale Police Chief Scott Heller is scheduled to attend and will present some awards within the department as part of the luncheon program, said Haney.

Lunch menu at the country club includes carved New York roast, roasted potatoes, and chef’s choice vegetable and dessert, along with beverages.

“We hope to have this on an annual basis,” Haney added. “We’re looking forward to hosting this new event in our community.”
