Oakdale Soroptimists Host “March (Motor) Madness”

Soroptimist International of Oakdale will host its annual Motor Madness fundraiser on Saturday, March 30 at 6:30 p.m., at the Gene Bianchi Community Center, 110 S. Second Ave., Oakdale. The event is open to residents from throughout the region.

Guests will be entertained by local singer-songwriter Chris Farris who will emcee and perform during the event. This year’s theme is “March (Motor) Madness”. Attendees are encouraged to dress in their favorite basketball team jerseys and participate in a Free Throw Contest for a chance to earn prizes and bragging rights. The event includes hearty appetizers, wine, beer, soft drinks, and dessert. Tickets are $100 each and admits two adults (must be 21 years or older) to the event and constitutes one entry for the door prize drawings. The highlight of the evening will be the drawing for the Grand Door Prize of a new motorcycle from Mitchell’s Modesto Harley Davidson (up to $14,000 value) or $10,000 cash as well as opportunities for other great prizes.

Soroptimist International of Oakdale is part of a global volunteer organization working to improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment.
