Time is ticking down until the start of Oakdale’s 10th annual Relay For Life, the signature fundraising event of the American Cancer Society.
Dozens of teams will take to the track, set up on the soccer fields at Oakdale High School, for a 24-hour period from Saturday, April 16 to Sunday, April 17 to raise money and awareness in the fight against cancer.
The entire community is invited to come and take part; even if you are not on a team, there will be booths, food, games, entertainment and plenty of information available.
Oakdale’s event is nationally ranked in terms of per capita fundraising and this year marks the 10th anniversary of the event here. Theme for this year is ‘Celebrating More Birthdays’ with Opening Ceremonies at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, followed at 9 a.m. by the Survivor Lap.
