Clear the Shelters, a successful nationwide pet adoption drive that took the country by storm, will be held this year on Saturday, July 23.

This will be the first year for Stanislaus Animal Services Agency to participate in this nationwide event. Families will be provided an opportunity to adopt a new family member or best friend. Every animal adoption will come with a bag of Hill’s Science Diet pet food, a dog leash, dog training, and a Petco Family Care Pack worth $650 in coupons for nutrition, toys, grooming products, cleaning supplies and more.

Stanislaus Animal Services Agency can be reached at 209-558-PETS for questions related to the program.

“We are excited to participate in this incredible event this year, and we want the community to remember Shelter first for a new family member to adopt,” stated Annette Patton, Executive Director of Stanislaus Animal Services.

Clear the Shelters event comes after last year’s highly successful effort, which literally emptied dozens of animal shelters across the country and inspired local communities to take action and open their homes to animals in need.

Clear the Shelters helps to address the overcrowding issues that local animal shelters typically experience in the summer months because of spring litters. The nationwide pet adoption drive also offers local families the opportunity to adopt an animal in need.
