At the Oakdale Annual Awards Banquet each year the Oakdale Chamber of Commerce honors members of the community for Citizen of the Year, Junior Achievement, Community Service, Business of the Year and Lifetime Achievement. The purpose is to honor individuals, organizations and businesses who have worked unselfishly to improve our Oakdale community and help others.

The event will be held at the Gene Bianchi Community Center on South Second Avenue on Friday, Jan. 20, 2017 at 6 p.m. Tickets are on sale now at the Oakdale Chamber of Commerce and on the Oakdale Chamber website for $40 per person. Seating is limited; reserve your tickets by Friday, Jan. 6. For more information, call 847-2244.

This year, the Chamber has announced Bob and Linda Meyer are being recognized with the 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award.

The Citizen of the Year nominees are Sharon Arpoika, Brian Lemons, Nancy Lilly, Antoinette Rodin, and Joe Stillman.

For Community Service, nominees are Astro Foundation, The Children’s Crisis Center - Guardian House, and Stanislaus River Watch.

Businesses of the Year nominees are Cocina Michoacana, Cook’s Communication, Fitness Plus, Ball Corporation, Oakdale Grocery Outlet, and Oakdale Veterinary Group.

Anna Hawksworth-Lutzow, Blake Morgan, Breanna Morgan and Luisa Soria are the Junior Achievement Nominees.
