Knights Ferry News for January 19, 2011

At the meeting of the History and Museum Associates the upcoming Peddler’s Faire was discussed. It will be on May 1st because Easter is the last Sunday in April. Notices went out to vendors, $55 for a booth. Call 881-3217 if interested. Also discussed was the Civil War Reenactment scheduled for March 19 and 20. Under new business a leak has been discovered in the roof and a wooden step behind Miller’s Hall has split. The Voortmans plan on opening the Knights Ferry Creamery and Sweet Shop in February. They are working on painting and getting things in order. Ice Cream and Candy will be on the first menu, in time for Valentines Day.

The Knights Ferry Parent Teacher Club is having a lasagna sale. They will make a 9-by-12 pan of lasagna for $15. Order forms are at the school and pick up day is January 31st between 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. at the Knights Ferry clubhouse. Good for dinner that night or freeze it for later.

Ken and Linda Morris gave granddaughter Rhiannon a 10th birthday party Saturday. They played games, ate hot dogs and had a lot of fun. Surprise guest was Larry who played jokes with them and on them!

At the Knights Ferry School Board meeting the board reviewed the Schools Accountability Report Card for 2010-2011. Report from the Parent Teacher Club was that the date has changed for the Silent/Live Auction and Dinner because of the Civil War reenactment using the date the parents wanted. Now the auction and dinner is set for March 26th.

Ben and Linda Cassinetto have bought the River’s Edge from Tim and Dorothy McKinsey. Ben is working on fixing a few things before it will open.
