Knights Ferry School held its third annual Patriotic Assembly last Friday. After the Pledge of Allegiance, the First through Fourth Grades sang and signed “God Bless America.” The Kindergarteners were up next, wearing flags and singing, “You’re a Grand Old Flag” with action. The First and Second Grade art project on display was a paper quilt of Abraham Lincoln and George Washington. The Third and Fourth Grade art project on display was the flag and the students told facts about the flag. The Fifth and Sixth Grade, who were studying the 13 colonies, did an art project with 13 stars and narrated facts comparing Lincoln and John Kennedy. For the Seventh and Eighth Grade art project each student made a collage from only newspapers and magazines on canvas and told about it. Natalie Brockman, band instructor, and Kaeli Sweet and Eden Cassinetto then concluded the program playing “America” on their instruments. School was then dismissed for Mid-Winter break.
