Knights Ferry School held its Christmas program last Thursday. Leading off was the beginning band playing “Jolly Old Saint Nicholas” followed by the intermediate band playing “A Festive Christmas Overture”. Natalie Brockman leads both bands. New this year were two handbell groups, beginning played “Away in the Manger” and the intermediate played “Joy to the World”. The Kindergarten class sang “Must be Santa” and the First Grade class sang “Away in the Manger” and “Jingle Bells”. The Second Graders did a play and song called “Merry Christmas”. The Third and Fourth grade sang “Christmas is the Time to Say I Love You” accompanied by Randy Russell on the guitar and Natalie Brockman on piano. The Fifth and Sixth Graders sang “Mele Kalikimaka” a song by Bette Midler. The Junior High put on the play: “The Grinch”. Then the school staff took the stage and sang “Hark! There’s the Bell!” with lyrics by Natalie Brockman, sung to the tune of “Carol of the Bells” (cute!). Moriah Loomis played a flute solo “When a Child is Born” with all grades singing. Kaeli Sturtevant was the Mistress of Ceremony. Refreshments were served after the performance.
